Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome Part 1

Thursday, June 10, 2021 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM CT | Virtual - WebEx

Overview:

RCA Academy is pleased to partner with John J. McClanahan, PhD, CCDC, LCADC for this training.

The concept of Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAW) has been around for decades but until recently, discussion of this extremely critical topic has been lacking in man treatment programs.  It should be the basis of relapse prevention programs.  As mentioned in the title, not knowing about this process can be detrimental to the individual’s recovery and even dangerous if not addressed in a timely manner.  In this workshop we will look at the history of PAW, it’s symptoms and how to help the individual deal with this very often normal part of the recovery process.

  • Participants will gain a working knowledge of the concept of PAW and critical issues surrounding it.
  • Participants will learn and discuss the many symptoms associated with PAW.
  • Participants will be able to provide their patients and clients with a working knowledge of the relationship between PAW and relapse prevention.
